A dental crown is a custom made dental prosthetic that is used to restore a tooths strength, shape, size and appearance.

At My Local Dentists, we use a range of materials for our crowns, and this is dependent on factors such as where in your mouth the tooth is, how visible the tooth is and how much load (or force) the tooth has to endure

We only use the highest quality materials, the most common being  zirconia and eMax, to ensure the best and long lasting results for our patients

Step 1

Come in for a crown consultation to ensure  your tooth is suitable for a crown.

Step 2

Preparation appointment – a preliminary restoration will be placed if required, and then the tooth will be prepared for a crown. At this appointment a scan or impression will be taken to make your crown. A temporary crown will be made to protect the underlying tooth while your crown is made.

Cementation appointment – usually 1-2 weeks after the preparation appointment where your crown will be cemented in place using a high grade resin based luting cement.
