What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a titanium screw placed directly into the jawbone, where it fuses with the surrounding bone to create a strong, stable foundation for a replacement tooth. Once the implant has fully integrated, a custom crown is attached, filling the gap and replicating the appearance and function of a natural tooth.
Our experienced dentists use the latest tools and techniques to provide reliable, long-lasting dental implant solutions. We use trusted implant systems including Straumann, Dentium and Osstem. With hundreds of successful cases, we can help you restore your smile with confidence and precision.
Is This Right for You?
You might consider a dental implant if you:
- Are missing one or more teeth
- Have a tooth that can't be saved and needs extraction
- Want to restore chewing, speaking, and smiling with a natural-looking solution
- Are looking for a long-lasting alternative to dentures or bridges
- Want to prevent neighbouring teeth from shifting into gaps left by missing teeth
If you're exploring all your options, dentures or bridges may also be suitable depending on your situation.
How It Works
- 1 Consultation and planning
Your dentist takes scans and x-rays to assess your bone and gum health. Complex cases are reviewed by a team of dentists to plan optimal placement.
- 2 Implant placement
The titanium post is placed into your jawbone under local anaesthetic. If needed, bone grafting is done at the same time.
- 3 Healing period
Over the next few months, the implant integrates with your bone. You'll have follow-up visits to check progress.
- 4 Crown fitting
Once healed, an abutment and custom crown are attached to complete your new tooth.
